TONOPAH -- Nye County commissioners will decide what type of construction they want for the new county administration building at the Calvada Eye during a regular meeting at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 7.

The meeting can be viewed by videoconference from the Bob Ruud Community Center in Pahrump.

Commissioners recently hired a company to demolish the old Calvada Eye buildings, which they had originally planned to renovate. They will review the option of having a steel, modular or stick-built building put up.

An update on the Nye County jail project is also due.

Commissioners will consider rescheduling the time of future board meetings to start an hour and a half later at 10 a.m

A list of projects for funding under Payment Equal to Taxes will be up for approval for the 2009-10 fiscal year.

Commissioners will continue discussions on a development agreement for the Front Sight master planned community.

One big ticket item up for approval is a $710,000 loan contract with the Nevada State Department of Conservation and Natural Resources for the upgrading of the Gabbs sewer pond and drawing up plans for the collection system.

Best In The Desert has asked to use county roads for the Vegas to Reno off-road race Aug. 20-21.

Commissioners will consider whether to terminate the contract for the county surveyor and solicit requests from qualifications from other professional land surveyors.

A list of Nevada Department of Transportation proposed projects will be up for approval.

On the consent agenda, in which a number of items can be approved with one motion, commissioners will consider accepting a Criminal Justice Assistance Grant to fund the narcotics task force, with $152,076 in state money and $96,195 in a county match from forfeiture and other funds.

Another item on the consent agenda is acceptance of an $88,000 Solid Waste Management Grant from U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development which requires a $21,988 county match.

A list of liquor, gaming and brothel licenses for the 2009-10 fiscal year will be up for renewal by the Nye County Licensing and Liquor Board, which meets at 9 a.m. The board consists of the five county commissioners and the sheriff.
