The Nye County Animal Shelter offers the following advice during the holiday: * Leave pets at home. The noise is frightening. * Put pets inside if possible to insulate them from the lights and noise. * Pet-proof the house, when animals become frightened, they can be destructive. * Never leave pets unattended outside. Even in a fenced yard they can escape and get lost or injured while seeking refuge. * Make sure your pet is wearing tags. If pets do get away or become lost an ID tag will help get them back home. * Remember, if a pet is afraid of thunder, they will fear fireworks. * If the family pet gets away over the holiday, call the animal shelter, 751-7020.
