Mardi Gras parade

The Pahrump Chamber of Commerce is seeking participants for the Mardi Gras celebration to be held at 1 p.m., Feb. 21.

Enter a float, group or family, walk or ride in a decorated vehicle.

Costumes are highly encouraged.

Singles Club meets

The Pahrump Singles Friendship Club will hold the regular monthly business meeting and potluck at 5 p.m., Jan. 31, at the UNR Cooperative Extension office, corner of Dandelion Street and Calvada Boulevard.

Fashion Show

Ms. Senior Golden Years USA will hold a fashion show at noon, Feb. 21, in the Saddle West Showroom.

There will be a light luncheon and a lively drawing for a unique gift basket. There will also be a silent auction.

Entertainment will be the "Music Men," a barbershop quartet, and Al Rio.

Tickets are $15, and may be purchased at Saddle West or from any member of the Queen's Court.

King and queen of Mardi Gras

The Pahrump Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for a king and queen for the upcoming Mardi Gras Celebration.

The winners will be ambassadors for the day and lead the parade to be held at 1 p.m. Feb. 21.

Ms. Senior Nye County Pageant

The Ms. Senior Nye County Pageant will be held April 18 at the Maverick, 340 E. Mesquite Ave.

The pageant is open to all ladies who have reached the elegant age of 60 plus.

Dancers, singers, comedy acts, poets, etc. are needed.

Everyone has a talent.

Fiber Arts 2009

The Pahrump Arts Council will sponsor the annual Fiber Arts Show Feb. 20 - 22 at the Bob Ruud Community Center.

The deadline for entries is Jan. 22 and forms must be accompanied by a check for $5. Forms are available from Debbie Rodriguez.

The show hours will be 1-6 p.m., Feb. 20; 9-5 p.m., Feb. 21; 10-4 p.m., Feb. 22 and the awards will be presented at 3 p.m.

Haven Selah

Dance leaders will come to Haven Selah for dances of universal peace at 1 p.m., Feb. 7.

Sacred songs are taught in various languages and the dance steps are easy to follow. There will be a vegetarian potluck following the dances and drumming after dinner.

Twelfth Night

The Pahrump Arts Council and Pahrump Valley High School Drama Department will stage William Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night," in a one-night-only show at 7 p.m. Feb. 21 in the PVHS auditorium.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and tickets are $10, with reduced prices for PAC members and students.

Missoula Children's Theatre

The Pahrump Arts Council will host the Missoula Children's Theatre performance of "Robin Hood," scheduled to perform 2 and 6 p.m., March 14 in the PVHS auditorium.

Open auditions will begin at 4 p.m. March 9.

Super Bowl at the VFW

Watch the big football game Feb. 1 at the VFW post on Homestead Road. There are four TVs and snacks will be available.

Author's Extravaganza

The Pahrump Community Library will host the third annual Author's Extravaganza on April 25.
