Yeager scores another victory in mod series

The IMCA modified series continued last weekend at Death Valley Raceway, with Justin Yeager and Brad Pounds winning the features.

AMARGOSA VALLEY -- Justin Yeager and Brad Pounds both had first- and second-place finishes, in last weekend's IMCA modified features at Death Valley Raceway.

Competing on the one-third mile dirt oval, Yeager, who now has two wins and two second places in the series, won the 25-lap main Saturday, with Pounds second. Sunday, the finishes were reversed.

The Best of the Best Wild West Shootout Series will conclude Feb. 14-15, with the regular-season opener Feb. 21.

Saturday's main had Lance Mari finish third, with Kenny Kirkpatrick fourth and Robert Miller fifth. Miller won on the first weekend of the series.

The top 10 included Joe Kent, Shawn Natenstedt, Danny Lauer, Paul Stone and Robert Smotherman.

Also competing were Randy Thornell, Sean Minor, Roy Spielman, Ron Jenkins, Jake Donnelly, Randy Dolberg, Jason Donnelly, Dustin Jenks, Ricky Alvarado, Andrew Odgers, Robert Claborn, Randy Reid and Jared Domingos.

In the Sunday feature, Donnelly, Stone and Alvarado were 3-4-5, respectively. In the top 10 were Spielman, Jason Pike, Natenstedt, Todd Nunnally and Dolberg.

Also competing were Smotherman, Donnelly, Mari, Odgers, Jenkins, Kent, Terry Little, Miller, Kirkpatrick, Minor, Reid, Frank Bridwell and Jenks.

Dwarf cars -- Monte Morris, Michael Greneit, Frank Monroe, Mark Dillie, Shane Simper, Kelly Gutchess, Bobby Meek, Leroy Kay, Jeff Shelton, Scott Kelley, Steve Gray, Cecilia Dillie, Justin Kimsey, Allen Hacking, Mike Bean, Gary Simper, Jim Slaugh, Blake Olsen.
