Beatty stuns Spring Mountain

Jacob Sumpter will be in the Beatty boys' basketball lineup today, when the Hornets host Henderson International School in a Southern Nevada Class A League game. The girls play the opener at 5 p.m.

Beatty stunned homestanding Spring Mountain 57-42 in a Southern Nevada Class A League boys' basketball game, in Las Vegas, Wednesday.

The Hornets moved to 4-1 in the league (9-8 overall) to tie them with the Eagles for third place. Henderson International School, which visits Beatty today, is tied with defending state 1-A champion Lake Mead Christian Academy for the league lead.

International is 4-0 in league games, 9-11 overall, while Lake Mead is 4-0, 12-6.

Beatty's girls (2-2, 7-9) plays International at 6 p.m. today. The Lady Hornets crushed Trona, Calif., 65-18 in a non-league game Wednesday.
