Whole lot of praying going on
For a country with founding fathers who wanted to keep the government separate from the varied organized practices of religion, there certainly was a whole lot of polarizing praying going on at the inauguration of Barack Obama as president.

Perhaps the biggest hoax to be played on Nevada's citizens by its elected officials during the 2009 legislative session is already being played on them before the session even starts.

The sports may be virtual, but the soreness is all too real
Soreness fills my soul as we settle back into our normal routines. This soreness has nothing to do with ill feelings toward people who may have slighted me of late, although there was that one gift from that one person that made me wonder about the "thought" behind it.

A step up from childishness?
WASHINGTON -- Wondering if his publisher liked the manuscript of "Les Miserables," Victor Hugo sent a terse note: "?" His publisher replied as tersely: "!" That was the nation's response to Barack Obama's inaugural address, even though -- or perhaps because -- one of his themes, delicately implied, was that Americans do not just have a problem, they are a problem.
