Tom and Lucille Piper

Tom and Lucille (Magalhaes) Piper celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 29, 2008, in Hanford, Calif., where they were married.

The couple has resided in Pahrump for 13 years, having come from Palo Alta, Calif.

Lucille spends her time with the local 4-H Club and Tom builds and flies electric model airplanes.

Many friends and relatives attended the gathering, including daughters Cheryl Dimenna of Sugarland, Texas and Debbie Renteria, with son Nolan, from San Jose, Calif.

Among the items on display were a wedding album; an album of pictures taken of the couple over their last 50 years together, including photos of their trips to Australia, Portugal, the Azores, Alaska and cruises to Mexico; the wedding dress made by Alice Norvell and the cake top.

A carriage ride through town concluded the celebration.
