Wine and dine set for Sunday

PVT

Periodically the Patio Cafe hosts a wine tasting and wine dinner on a Sunday evening. The next one is on tap for Jan. 18.

This time, dinner will be a choice of shrimp scampi and a seafood chowder or wine and rosemary marinated lamb kabobs with barley soup. Both entrees will come with a wilted spinach salad and steamed or grilled mixed vegetables. Dessert will be cheesecake.

Wines to be tasted are a gewürztraminer from Jekel Vineyards; Don Olegario Albarino from a region of Spain that shouldn't even grow grapes because the climate is too wet and too cold and a white burgundy from France.

The reds will be a Validguie from J. Lohr Vineyards; a claret (Bordeaux style) from Guenoc Winery and a merlot from Kenwood Winery. The added treat of a port wine from Fonseca Vineyards will accompany dessert.

Tickets are $30 per person and reservations may be made by calling 537-0222.
