The Pahrump Arts Council is gearing up for the 2009 Fiber Arts Show with a sneak preview from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Jan. 24 at the Pahrump Valley Museum.

Talented stitchers will present an array of fiber arts including crochet, knitting, quilting, crewel and embroidery.

Attendees will have a chance to talk to the artists and learn while watching.

There will also be a video and discussion time with guest, Jewel Burton-Avery, about the Daughters of the American Revolution Quilt Museum.

The presentation is a fascinating, in-depth look at what is considered to be a truly American art.

The annual Fiber Arts Show is scheduled for Feb. 20-22 at the Bob Ruud Community Center. The deadline for entries is Jan. 22.
