Durango girls in 4-A soccer victory

Amanda Lopez scored three goals to help Las Vegas Durango's girls defeat Clark 7-3 in Southwest Class 4-A girls soccer Saturday.

Janie Bordinhao, Jamie Dean, Josie Dean and Cristal Velaszquez also scored for the Trailblazers (2-1-1 division, 2-3-1 in all matches), who led 4-2 at halftime.

Natalia Both scored twice for the Chargers (1-2, 1-3-1), and Amanda Loveall also scored.

In other games:

Bonanza 7, Desert Oasis 0 -- At Bonanza, Gabriella Romero achieved a hat trick to carry the Bengals (2-0, 3-1) past Desert Oasis (0-3, 0-5). Alli Oldenburg, Lorena Magana, Brianna Hicks and Taylor Sutton also scored, and Bonanza goalkeepers Kylie Wasselle and Michelle Brewer combined for the shutout.

Bishop Gorman 3, Sierra Vista 2 -- At Sierra Vista, Megan Wasiak, Khachirha Tugas and Hayley Wingender scored as the Gaels (3-0, 5-0) built a 3-1 halftime lead and held off the Mountain Lions (2-1, 3-2). For the Mountain Lions, Katrine Baker had a goal and assisted on Paige Petit's goal.

Spring Valley (0-1-1, 0-2-2) and Western (0-2, 0-3-1) were idle.

The girls' winter season ends with the Southern playoffs Feb. 24-26-March 2-5, at the Bettye Wilson Soccer Complex at Cimarron-Memorial High School.
