Beatty to play Indian Springs

Kaitlan Ulrich, 15, will be in the Beatty lineup Friday, when the Lady Hornets play visiting Indian Springs in a Southern Nevada Class A League basketball game. Saturday, Beatty is at home against Trona, Calif.

Beatty plays at home against the Indian Springs Thunderbirds Friday, in a Southern Nevada Class A League basketball doubleheader, starting at 6 p.m.

Saturday, the Hornets are at home against Trona, Calif., in a twin bill beginning at 2:30 p.m.

Nye County's 1-A basketball teams had mixed success in league games last weekend.

The results:

Beatty boys 56, Lund 41 -- At Lund, Anthony Regalado scored a game-high 26 points to lead the Hornets to victory in their Class 1-A Southern League opener.

Pahranagat Valley boys 60, Beatty 35 -- At Alamo, Tommy Williams and Taylor Poulsen each scored seven points during a 23-2 second-quarter run that lifted the Panthers past the Hornets Saturday. Williams finished with 18 points to lead all scorers. Poulsen added 13.

Joe Serrano led Beatty with 12 points, and teammate Ramiro Hernandez scored 10.

Lake Mead Christian Academy boys 60, Tonopah 20 -- At Tonopah, Jeff Newton led a balanced attack with 11 points as the Eagles defeated the Muckers.

Josh Bratton, Demetrius Turner and Alex Mayorga each added nine points for Lake Mead, which led 36-7 at the half and 48-11 after three quarters.

Henderson International boys 43, Tonopah 40 -- At Tonopah, Vinh Thai drained a 3-pointer at the buzzer to cap a huge comeback by the Wolverines. Tonopah entered the fourth quarter with a 36-23 lead, but the Wolverines finished the game on a 20-4 run, including Thai's game-winning trey. Danny Moerman led Henderson International with 18 points. Clay Tormey added 14 points.

Lake Mead boys 67, Round Mountain 17 -- At Round Mountain, Landon Littlefield and Jeff Newton each scored 11 points as the Eagles won easily. Lake Mead built a 27-5 halftime lead and outscored the Knights 24-2 in the third quarter.

Tonopah girls 32, Lake Mead 28 -- At Tonopah, Alex Phillips had 11 points and 13 rebounds as the Muckers held off the Eagles. Amanda O'Donnell added nine points and 12 rebounds for Tonopah. Jordan Clarke led Lake Mead with seven points.

Round Mountain girls 53, Henderson International 18 -- At Round Mountain, the Knights cruised past Henderson International.

Tonopah girls 38, Henderson International 19 -- At Tonopah, Alex Philips scored 12 points as the Muckers beat the Wolverines. Brittany Hoff scored 12 for Henderson International.
