Virgie Helen Kujath Virgie Helen Kujath, 90, passed away Jan. 1, 2009, in Pahrump. She was born March 17, 1918, in Powell, Neb., and was a resident of Pahrump for two years, having come from Meadow Valley, Calif. She was a beautician and a member of the Silver Eagles Motorcycle Club. As a child, she played the banjo in her father's orchestra. She was of the Lutheran faith. Her daughter Delores Williams of Pahrump; grandson Robert Michael Raarup; two great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren survive her. Services will be private. (01/01/2009) ![]() Ola Smith Ola Smith, 70, passed away Jan. 8, 2009, in Las Vegas. She was born June 23, 1938, in Texas and was a resident of Pahrump for 18 years. She was employed as the office manager for the Pahrump Senior Center. Her son Michael (Carolyn) Smith; daughter Deborah (Steve) L. Kies; mother Maggie Horton; brother Don (Pam) Horton; sisters Shirley and Betty Horton; grandsons Robert and David Kies and numerous nieces and nephews survive her. Services will be at 11 a.m. Jan. 17 in First Southern Baptist Church on Fehrs Way. (01/08/2009) ![]() Beth Elaine DeFeo Beth Elaine DeFeo, 42, passed away Dec. 31, 2008, at home. She was born Dec. 1, 1966, in Xenia, Ohio and was a resident of Pahrump for 14 years. She was a casino worker. Her parents, Ralph and Barbara DeFeo; brother Blair Dennis of Las Vegas; sisters Carolyn Jackson of Orlando, Fla. and Debra Alston of Las Vegas; one nephew; three nieces and two grand nephews survive her. She donated her body to Medical Education and Research Institute of Nevada (MERIN) There will be a celebration of her life 1-3 p.m. Jan. 17 in the clubhouse of Comstock Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice. (12/31/2008) Loretta M. Vogel Loretta M. Vogel, 81, passed away Jan. 10, 2009, in Pahrump. She was born May 18, 1927, in Michigan, and was a resident of Pahrump for 10 years, having come from California. She was a hair dresser and of the Christian faith. Her husband, Donald Vogel of Pahrump; son Edward Dunne of Idaho and four grandchildren survive her. She was preceded in death by her parents and seven brothers and sisters. John Francis Pitts Sr. John Francis "Frenchy" Pitts Sr. passed away Jan. 9, 2009. He was born Feb. 10, 1920 in Tewksbury, Mass., and was a resident of Pahrump for 17 years. He served in the Army as part of the Hg 121st Combat Engineers, 29th Division during World War II. He leaves his wife of 63 years, Mary; sons John F. Pitts Jr. of Pahrump and Gary J. Pitts of Florida; nieces and nephews of Winthrop, Mass., Florida and Massachusetts and three grandchildren. There will be no services per his request. (01/09/2009)
Francis 'Frank' Blossom Francis "Frank" Blossom, 74, passed away Jan. 10, 2009, at Cottonwood Cove in Nevada. He was born Oct. 21, 1934, in St. Paul, Minn., and was a resident of Pahrump for 10 years, having come from Birchwood, Wis. He was a railroad engineer, an avid reader and a historian. He was a member of the Lions Club and believed in the Bible. His wife, Delores of Pahrump; sons John (Mary) and Dan (Des) of Brichwood; daughter Laura (Jerry) of Pahrump; grandsons Frank (Jessie) of Vernal, Utah, William of Rush City, Minn., and Robert (Nichole) of Exeland, Wis.; granddaughters Rose of Duluth, Minn., and Elizabeth (Steve) of Pine City, Minn.; brother Robert; sisters Mary and June and four great-grandchildren survive him. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ethel; brother Jack and sisters Patty, Rosemary and Kathleen. Services will begin with visitation from 9:30-11 a.m., Jan. 16 at Pahrump Family Mortuary. The funeral will follow and he will be buried in Grandview Cemetery. (01/10/2009) |
