Attorney Nancy Lord said she didn't agree to represent Concerned Citizens for a Safe Community pro bono in their fight against the proposed federal detention center as noted on page A9 of the Jan. 9 Pahrump Valley Times.

Also, Victoria Balint, former director of the Nevada JobConnect Pahrump office wished to clarify a statement on page A6 of the Jan. 7 PVT, which referred to a questionnaire mentioned during a county commission meeting last summer. Balint said she forwarded the questionnaire requesting financial information on the Pahrump JobConnect office to John Ball, executive director of the Southern Nevada Workforce Investment Board, which is in charge of the office finances. Ball said the questionnaire didn't involve policies of the WIB, but dealt with state and national policy.
