HORACE LANGFORD JR. / PVT
A five-vehicle pileup in front of Terrible's Town Casino, on Highway 160, caused a traffic snarl Monday afternoon as rubberneckers slowed to take a look at the bumper car lineup. Four cars were waiting for the red light to change when a Ford F150 pickup, sporting Illinois plates and a handicap lift, plowed into the back of the fourth car in line, causing a chain reaction crash. Two drivers and two passengers were transported to Desert View Hospital by Pahrump Valley Fire-Rescue Service. There appeared to be no skid marks on the roadway that might indicate the F150 driver tried to apply his brakes. Apparently one driver saw what was coming and zipped out of line in time to avoid the collision.

Pahrump Valley Fire-Rescue Service EMTs Kristen Harelson and Michael Campos roll a victim to their ambulance on Highway 160 as EMT Michael Foskaris, carrying his hat, follows. Scott Lewis confers with his crew in the background.
