Kristin Fay Szentimrey

Kristin Fay Szentimrey, 65, passed away Dec. 23, 2008, in Pahrump.

She was born Jan. 19, 1943, in South Dakota and was a resident of Pahrump for nine years, having come from Las Vegas.

She worked in retail and was of the Catholic faith.

Her husband, Al Szentimrey of Pahrump, mother Louise Rogers of South Dakota; sisters Cindy and Vicki; brothers Gene and Jeff; son Mark Hausman; daughters Barb Sather of Arizona, Tina and Stacey; step-daughters Reneigh and Denise and six grandchildren survive her.

There will be no services. (12/23/2008)

Denise Michelle Holt

Denise Michelle Holt, 50, passed away Dec. 21, 2008, in Pahrump.

She was born Dec. 7, 1958, in Camden, N.J., and was a resident of Pahrump for 11 years, having come from Tucson, Ariz.

She was self-employed as a nail technician, retiring in 2004, and was of the Catholic faith.

Her husband Conrad Holt of Pahrump; daughter Amber Holt of Las Vegas; sons Michael and Ryan Holt and two grandchildren survive her.

She was preceded in death by her mother.

Services were held Dec. 29 at Pahrump Family Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the family may be made through Nevada State Bank. (12/21/2008)

Richard Bloom

Richard Bloom passed away Dec. 24, 2008.

He was born Dec. 7, 1935.

Wife, Joanne Kaye of Allison Iowa; daughter and son-in-law Lisa Joy and Tony Orelli of Tampa, Fla.; sister and brother-in-law Judy and Alan Grayson of Delray Beach, Fla.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Rosemary and Dean Fleharty of Prairie Home, Mo., and former wife Sandra Bloom of Miami, Fla. survive him.

Richard was cremated and his ashes will be spread over the Everglades near Miami. There were no services and no visitation. (12/24/2008)

Virginia Kealoha Hind

Virginia Kealoha Hind, 75, formerly of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, went home to our Lord on the beautiful white morning of Dec. 18, 2008.

She was born Sept. 7, 1933, in Keei-Kona, Hawaii, to Kee Ung Han and Eva Kamala (Van Noy) who have preceded her in death.

She lived most of her years in Kailua-Kona and Honolulu but spent the last 15 years as a resident of Pahrump.

She spent her entire career in the restaurant industry, retiring in 1993 as a hostess at the Kona Lagoon Hotel and the Keauhou Beach Hotel in Kona before moving to Pahrump.

She continued in the industry working as a hostess at the Double Eagle Casino Restaurant, then Lakeside Casino Restaurant and Bummers. Most will remember her greeting them with her beautiful smile, wearing a Hawaiian muumuu and always with flowers in her hair.

She loved to fish while she was living in Hawaii and loved to take long walks around the neighborhood, greeting and talking to her neighbors. In her years in Pahrump, her greatest passion was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They always brought love and joy to her heart.

She is survived by sisters Victoria (small Vicky) Manac and Mercedes (Honey) Fox of Kailua-Kona; sons Robert (Roberta) Koanui of Kailua-Kona, Damien K. Koanui and Joseph (Mary) Koanui Jr. of Waimanalo, Hawaii and Shannon Kamaki Hind of Pahrump; daughters Joslyn (Michael) Braddock, Kristal (Mikey) Kaahea and Janice (Jorge) Hind-Padilla all of Pahrump; Hanai-daughter Vanessa Gomez of Kailua-Kona; 28 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Alfonso Hawaii Han, and sisters Margaret Cagampang and Victoria (big Vicky) Uganiza of Kailua-Kona and Josephine Raquel of Pearl City, Hawaii.

A paina (celebration) of her life will be at noon Jan. 3 at 3360 S. National Ave. (Aunty Linda's home). All Pahrump family and friends are invited.

Virginia will return to Kailua-Kona Jan. 31, where services will be held and her ashes scattered in the ocean she so loved.

Mahalo (thank you) Mom, for all you have given us and all you have taught us. You will always be in our hearts and we will cherish our memories forever.

Dorothy Zeigler

Dorothy "Mrs. Ziggy" Zeigler, 75, passed away Dec. 24, 2008.

She was born Dec. 18, 1933, in Watertown, S.D., and lived in Pahrump for the last seven years.

Dorothy was a retired chief custodial manager.

She enjoyed fishing, her grandchildren, traveling, bingo and slots.

She deeply loved her husband and their children every day, God bless them.

Husband LaVerne (Ziggy) Zeigler; son Randy Zeigler; daughter Debra Holt; grandchildren Tara, Erica and Stephanie Zeigler, Felisha Love and Wesley Holt and great-grandchildren Sierra and Savanna Glaza survive her.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Jan. 3, Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 650 S. Blagg Road.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Nye County Animal Shelter.

Dorothy will be sadly missed by all who knew her. (12/24/2008)

Jose Natividad Naranjo Saenz

Jose Natividad Naranjo Saenz, 24, passed away Dec. 25, 2008, in Pahrump.

He was born Dec. 14, 1984 in Las Vegas.

His mother, Marta Alicia Sofia; sisters Angelica Perez Saenz (Noe), Lucresia L. Naranjo (William), Mary Cruz Medrano and Marta Medrano; brothers Manuel Naranjo, Juan Enrique Medrano and Facundo Medrano and nine nieces and nephews survive him.

Rose Linda Mohamed

Rose Linda Mohamed, 46, passed away Dec. 26, 2008, at home.

She was born Sept. 12, 1962, in Torrance, Calif., and was a resident of Pahrump for three years, having come from Las Vegas.

She was a housewife and of the Christian faith.

Her husband Rezk M. Mohamed III of Pahrump; sons Lawrence Casel and Joseph Casel, both of Las Vegas, Mark Owens of Phoenix, Ariz., John Owens of Pahrump, David Neely of Vale, Ariz and John Neely of Maricopa, Ariz.; daughter Maggie Casel of Las Vegas; mother Rose Carnahan; step father Robert W. "Bud" Neely III of Tempe, Ariz., and sisters Leslie Bowles of Cave Creek, Ariz. and Shelley Neely survive her.

She was preceded in death by her father, David L. Cobbs and sister, Debbie McCarthy.

Services will be at 1 p.m., Jan. 3 at Pahrump Family Mortuary immediately followed by a wake at the family residence.
