Obituaries
John D. Tate John D. Tate, 65, passed away Feb. 22, 2009, in Pahrump. He was born Nov. 27, 1943, in Philadelphia, Pa., and was a resident of Pahrump for seven years, having come from Clifton, N.J. He was a retired marketing representative for New Jersey Utility. He was one of the directors for the Pahrump Valley Junior Golf Association and a member of the Shadow Mountain Community Players. He was a volunteer with Pahrump Search and Rescue and a volunteer wildlife/hunting instructor. His faith was Catholic. His wife, Sharon Tate of Pahrump; son John P. (Diana) Tate of New Jersey; daughters Jennifer Tate and Kathleen (Bernie) Rosenberg both of New Jersey; mother-in-law Nora Swope of New Jersey and four grandchildren survive him. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Tate. A celebration of his life will be scheduled for a later date. (02/22/2009) ![]() Byron Piimauna Kalani Souza Byron Piimauna Kalani Souza, 25, passed away Feb. 23, 2009, in Las Vegas. He was born April 20, 1983, in Honolulu, Hawaii, and was a resident of Pahrump for three years, having come from Nanakuli, Hawaii. He was a construction laborer for Las Vegas Paving Corp. He had graduated from high school and was of the Christian faith. He is survived by his parents, Joaquin and Abigail Souza III and brothers King Souza, Dustin (Sharde) Souza and Zack Souza and numerous aunties, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. A viewing will be 10 a.m.-noon, March 3 followed by services, noon-1 p.m. at Pahrump Family Mortuary. (02/23/2009) |
