TECOPA, Calif. -- Nye County Sheriff's deputies assisted the Inyo Narcotics Enforcement Team (INET) in dismantling two locations where marijuana was being cultivated last week.

Benjamin Swanson, 35, of Tecopa, was arrested and taken to the Inyo County Jail, where he is being held on $15,000 bail.

In the late afternoon of Feb. 18, INET agents were notified by a deputy in Tecopa about an indoor marijuana operation. Two search warrants were obtained.

The first warrant resulted in the seizure of 80 high-grade marijuana plants in the Tecopa Heights area. INET agents dismantled the operation and seized all the equipment.

Later that evening, INET served the second search warrant in the Stewart Valley area and dismantled another marijuana growing operation, seizing an additional 47 plants.

According to INET Task Force Commander Jeff Hollowell, the two operations would have yielded over $300,000 in profits.

INET is continuing the investigation, and additional charges will be requested through the Inyo County District Attorney's Office.
