County finances, PETT on agenda

A report on county finances for the 2009-2010 fiscal year beginning July 1 is on the agenda when the Nye County Commission meets at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in Tonopah.

The meeting can be viewed by videoconference at the Bob Ruud Community Center in Pahrump.

In other business, commissioners will discuss whether to solicit a proposal for a cost benefit analysis to study whether the county should purchase Pahrump Valley Utilities.

A revised five-year agreement on the Payment Equal to Taxes from the U.S. Department of Energy is up for consideration.

A bill that would amend the 911 taxing district and create an advisory committee to improve the system, is up for approval in a 9:30 a.m. timed item.

The Nye County Assessor has asked the district attorney's office to investigate persons selling parcels without a division of land map in violation of state law.

The naming of commissioners to various county boards is on the agenda.

William Seymour will be up for ratification as the new county comptroller.

Bids will be considered for repaving the Amargosa Valley school gymnasium floor.
