RENO -- One of the winningest high school football coaches in Nevada history is calling it quits.
Ken Dalton is stepping down after racking up 11 regional titles and six state titles in 27 years at McQueen High in Reno. He also recorded 308 victories during a 40-year career that began in California.
The 61-year-old Dalton will remain a McQueen teacher for two more years. He is recommending defensive coordinator Jim Snelling as his successor.
The undefeated Lancers won the 4A state championship last year with a 13-12 victory over Las Vegas Palo Verde.
