Obituaries
Evelyn A. Hayden Evelyn A. Hayden, 84, passed away Feb. 18, 2009, in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 20, 1924, in Louisville, Ky., and was a resident of Pahrump for 33 years, having come from Gardena, Calif. She was a homemaker, and a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Military Officers Association of America. She was of the Catholic faith and a member of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. Her sons Thomas (Shelia) of St. Marys, Ga., Daniel (Melinda) of Garden Grove, Calif., and Michael (Wanda) of Merlin, Ore.; daughters Victoria (Henry) of Norwalk, Calif. and Donna (David) of Carson City; 17 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren survive her. Services will be at 9 a.m. Feb. 27, at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Chief Tecopa Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association. (02/18/2009) ![]() Faye Healon Shelton Faye Healon Shelton passed away Feb. 14, 2009, in Surprise, Ariz., She was born Nov. 9, 1922, in Dardanelle, Ark. She moved to San Dimas, Calif., in the 1960s, where she lived for 30 years, working for the state of California. She is survived by granddaughter Michelle Shelton and grandson-in-law, Rodney Orman of Pahrump; granddaughter Julie Shelton of Fresno, Calif.; grandson Michael Williams (Diane) Shelton of Upland, Calif.; great-grandchildren Steve Witherell, Chris Shelton Witherell, Belinda Shelton, Amber Orman and Ryan Orman, all of Pahrump; Amy Burbank, John Schultz, Emely Shultz and Annie Shelton, all of Fresno; James Williams, of Upland, and Scotty Williams, of Lucerne Valley, Calif.; brother Kenneth (Ruth) Hodges, of Surprise; brother-in-law Gayle Shelton, of Florida, and niece Pam Shelton, of San Diego, Calif. She was preceded in death by husband Floyd Earl Shelton; son Dewayne Carl Shelton; grandson Carl Dewayne Shelton; brother-in-law Bill Shelton and sister-in-law Shirley Shelton.
