LAS VEGAS -- Eldorado's girls forfeited their seven Northeast League wins Wednesday, pushing back the Sunrise Region girls basketball playoffs and changing a couple of pairings in the region tournament.

Prior to Wednesday, the Northeast leaders were:Desert Pines 11-1,Valley 10-2, Eldorado 7-5, Las Vegas 7-5. With the forfeits, the top four are now: Desert Pines 12-0, Valley 10-2, Las Vegas 8-4, Rancho 5-7.

One day after the Sunrise Region boys playoffs were delayed because Desert Pines boys forfeited three games, a similar situation put the girls playoffs on hold.

Eldorado's girls, who beat Desert Pines on Friday to earn the Northeast League's No. 3 seed, Wednesday, forfeited all seven of their league wins due to the use of at least one ineligible player.

The Sundevils were scheduled to play at Silverado in the Sunrise quarterfinals; Instead, Las Vegas moved up to the No. 3 seed, and Rancho, which beat Canyon Springs 43-41 in a make-up game Wednesday afternoon, was the No. 4 seed.

The Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association and Clark County School District postponed the start of the Sunrise girls playoffs until Thursday to allow time for the make-up game and for playoff teams to prepare for a new opponent.

The region semifinals will be played today and the championship Saturday at Liberty.

Two quarterfinal matchups are unaffected. Desert Pines remained the Northeast's No. 1 seed and took on Coronado. Valley was No. 2 and faced Liberty.

Silverado was at home against Las Vegas. Green Valley, the top seed in the Southeast, was at home to play Rancho.

* In Sunrise boys' playoff games Wednesday, it was Desert Pines 78, Silverado 70; Eldorado 81, Coronado 51; Foothill 58, Las Vegas 44, and Liberty 59, Canyon Springs 47.

In Sunset regional girls games, Bishop Gorman eliminated Cheyenne 71-31; Centennial roughed up Sierra Vista 90-55; Legacy surprised Bonanza 62-53 and Palo Verde edged Durango 67-60 in overtime.
