The Pahrump Valley Times Nevada High School Basketball ratings went through a minor final weekend shakeup, allowing Reno Bishop Manogue's boys to rise to No. 1 in the Class 4-A rankings.

The Miners, the Sierra Division champions at 14-0 (22-6 in all games), are ranked ahead of Southwest winner Las Vegas Bishop Gorman (15-1 division, 23-5). Palo Verde (12-2, 20-4) is third, with defending state champion Reno, 15-12, fourth.

Previous No. 1-ranked Cheyenne fell into fifth after losing 64-60 to unrated Mojave (9-5, 17-8).

Dayton, 15-9 and the No. 1 seed in the Northern 3-A playoffs, was ranked first in that class. Defending state champion Faith Lutheran is second at 9-17; the Crusaders won the Southern League's regular-season title at 4-2, a game ahead of No. 4 Moapa Valley and No. 5 Virgin Valley.

Winnemucca Lowry, 15-9, is second on the 3-A list.

Needles, Calif., 25-5, is No. 1 in Class 2-A, with Silver Stage, from the Dayton area, second with its 21-5 record. Lincoln County, the 2008 playoff winner, is third at 15-11.

In Class A, 2008 playoff champion Lake Mead Christian Academy is first at 20-8. Owyhee, 23-1, is second, with Coleville, Calif., 19-3, third.

Bishop Gorman, 24-3, and Centennial, 25-2, heavy favorites to clash for the Sunset Region title this weekend, are ranked 1-2 in the Class 4-A girls ratings. If form follows substance, the Gaels and Bulldogs figure to mix it up again in the state tournament Feb. 26-27 in The Orleans Arena.

Perennial Northern power Reno, 20-5, is third, with Henderson Green Valley, 23-3, fourth.

Spring Creek, 23-1, the odds-on choice to win the state championship, is first in the 3-A ratings, with defending state champion Yerington, 21-4, second. The Lions have lost four games since Karrie-Ann Quartz, one of their 6-foot power forwards, was injured.

Winnemucca Lowry, 15-10, is third, with Virgin Valley, 20-7, fourth.

In Class 2-A, 2008 winner Needles, Calif., is first at 27-2. Lincoln County, 23-3, is second, with West Wendover, 20-9, third.

Lund leads the 1-A ratings at 17-2, but in the Southern playoffs, the Mustangs face a major threat from Pahranagat Valley Alamo, 17-9. Virginia City is third at 15-3.
