Donna Rose Mikel

Donna Rose Mikel, 65, passed away Feb. 6, 2009, in Las Vegas.

She was born Feb. 15, 1943, in Oak Park, Ill., and was a resident of Pahrump for six years, having come from Oak Park.

She was a home health provider and a member of the Moose Lodge and the American Legion.

She was of the Lutheran faith and a member of Saved by Grace Lutheran Church.

Her husband, George Mikel of Pahrump; son Donald Zelenko of Oak Park; daughters Kathy Lincicum of Juda Wis., and Patty Olson of Forest Park, Ill.; mother Lorraine Phillips; grandchildren Christian Olson of Forest Park and James, Matthew and JoAnna Lincicum of Juda and nieces Tracy F. and Christine Fairbanks survive her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Tracy; daughter Denise Zelenko; sister Pat Funk and brother Ronald Tracy.

Visitation was 5-9 p.m. Feb. 13, at Pahrump Family Mortuary. Burial was at 2 p.m. Feb. 14, in Grandview Cemetery. (02/06/2009)

Donald Watts

Donald "Don" Watts passed away Feb. 1, 2009, after a stay in the hospital.

He was a resident of Pahrump for 12 years.

He served in the Army with Patton's "Hell on Wheels."

He is survived by his wife JoAnn; son Randall of Kent, Wash.; daughter Dawn of Longview, Wash.; grandson Ryan of Pullman, Wash.; granddaughter Candace of Longview and great-grandson Braden of Longview. (02/01/2009)

Joseph S. Lopez

Joseph S. Lopez, 58, passed away Jan. 30, 2009, at Desert Springs Hospital in Las Vegas.

He was born April 6, 1950, in Ely, and was a longtime resident of Las Vegas before moving to Pahrump 10 years ago with his wife, Rebecca.

He served with the Job Corps and worked for the Culinary Union for 26 year and retired from Desert Inn Hotel in 1992.

He is survived by his wonderful wife, Rebecca A. Lopez of Pahrump; son Shane of Salt Lake City, Utah; brother Terry D. Lopez of Pahrump; sister Lori M. (Johnny) Hurst of Pahrump; many nieces and nephews and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph B. and Ida T. Lopez and grandfather Joseph S. Lopez.

Services were held Feb. 7, at Faith Fellowship. (01/30/2009)

Paula C. Ledesma

Paula C. Ledesma, 42, passed away Feb. 11, 2009, in Pahrump.

She was born Sept. 8, 1967, in Lynwood, Calif., and lived in Pahrump for seven months, having come from Huntington, Calif.

She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and of the Roman Catholic faith.

She was employed as a beauty consultant for Walmart.

Her husband Edward Ledesma of Pahrump; daughter Emily M. Ledesma of Pahrump; father Richard T. Baker and mother Carmen Fitzgerald, both of Huntington Park, Calif, survive her.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Feb. 20 at Pahrump Family Mortuary. Burial will be at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City. (02/11/2009).

Lida Mae Jensen

Our loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Lida Mae Jensen, passed away peacefully Feb. 9, 2009, in Las Vegas with family members at her side.

Lida Mae Decker was born in December of 1929, in New Jersey. She completed her education and began a career in nursing.

Lida was lucky enough to find two loves of her life. She married Frank W. Giamoni of Phillipsburg, N.J., and many years later, married Edward Jensen of Edison, N.J.

Lida moved to Bloomingdale, N.Y., with Ed, and lived there until he passed away, then moved to Pahrump to live with daughter, Carrie, and son-in-law, Buddy Stitzer.

Throughout her life, Lida enjoyed the company of people from all walks of life and had many, many close friends. She had a great sense of humor, really enjoyed life, was well-read and paid close attention to current events.

She enjoyed volunteering, reading, crocheting, bowling, bingo and travel. She was a nurse, dental hygenist and worked as a volunteer for the Harris Hill Soaring Corp. in Elmira, N.Y.; the Bloomingdale Fire Department and for the 1980 Olympics in Lake Place, N.Y.

Lida is survived by daughters Carrie E. Stitzer of Pahrump and Carol Giamoni Copelan of Santa Barbara, Calif.; sons Richard A. Snyder of Phillipsburg and Frank A. Giamoni of Easton, Pa.; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by sons Michael F. and Joseph G. Giamoni.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a favorite charity in her name.
