High school tourney at The Orleans

The 2009 Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association-sanctioned Boys and Girls Bowling Championships will be contested Feb. 12-19 at The Orleans Bowling Center.

The first round began Thursday for the boys teams; at 1:30 p.m. today, the girls tournament will start.

The team tournament continues with regional semifinal matches Feb. 17 at 2:30 p.m. The finals are Feb. 18 at 2:30 p.m.

The state finals are at 2:30 p.m. Feb. 19.

The top four seeded boys teams are Rancho (112-14), Silverado (111-15), Shadow Ridge (117-27) and Bishop Gorman (102-24).

The top four seeded girls teams are Eldorado (122-4), Coronado (126-0), Palo Verde (140-4) and Bonanza (122-4).

All teams in the tournament are members of the Clark County High School Bowling League, which is a NIAA-sanctioned activity.
