Who makes what? County bills tell all

The list of salaries shows the top-paid salaried county employee is Nye County Chief Prosecutor Kirk Vitto, a 19-year employee, whose gross paycheck every two weeks is $5,454.24, or $141,810 per year, according to the quarterly list of bills for payment.

Assistant District Attorney Marla Zlotek is paid $5,280.70 every two weeks, or $137,298 annually. That's more than their boss, Nye County District Attorney Bob Beckett, who receives $5,020 every two weeks, or $130,542 annually.

County commissioners Butch Borasky and Gary Hollis receive a check of $948.34 every two weeks, while Eastley is paid $1,081.

County Assessor Sandy Musselman is paid $3,251.81 every two weeks, or $84,547 annually.

Assistant Sheriffs Bill Weldon and Rick Marshall, as well as Capt. Bill Becht, due to their longevity, receive more than their boss, Sheriff Tony DeMeo. Weldon is paid $4,352.40 every two weeks, or $113,162 annually. Marshall receives $4,295.04 every two weeks, or $111,671 annually. Becht is paid $4,188.80 every two weeks, or $108,908 annually. DeMeo is paid $3,816.24 every two weeks, or $99,222 annually.

Pahrump Justice of the Peace Tina Brisebill is paid $3,141.58 every two weeks, or $81,681 annually. That's less than the quieter north county Tonopah Justice of the Peace Joe Maslach, who receives $3,606.92 every two weeks or $93,779 annually.

The regular pay for Assistant Public Works Director Dave Fanning is $4,323.66 every two weeks, or $112,415 annually.

Darrell Lacy, director of the Nye County Nuclear Waste Project Office, is paid $3,839.20 every two weeks or $99,819 annually. Planner Cheryl Beeman is paid $4,040.80 every two weeks, or $105,060 annually.

Pahrump Town Manager Bill Kohbarger is cut a check every two weeks for $4,038.50, which amounts to $105,001 annually. That's more than Pahrump Fire Chief Scott Lewis, who is paid $3,472.80 every two weeks, or $90,292 annually.

Former county manager Ron Williams, who had 27 years with Nye County, had the highest salary prior to his retirement Dec. 7, with a two-week gross pay of $6,048.96, amounting to $157,273 annually.
