Incorporation study back on Nye's agenda

Nye County commissioners will consider another request from the Pahrump Town Board to fund a $39,000 University of Nevada, Reno study on incorporation, during a meeting that begins at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Bob Ruud Community Center.

A previous request died for lack of a motion.

* On another agenda item, Utilities Inc. of Central Nevada has asked the county to partner with Pahrump in supporting its request for $250 million in the economic stimulus package to complete the installation of water and sewer infrastructure throughout their service area.

* The law firm of Gibson and Kuehn is asking for an extension of their contract for public defender services and an increase to $550,000 annually.

* During the planning items, which begin at 1:30 p.m., a development agreement will be up for adoption with Front Sight Management Inc. for a planned community around the firearms training academy.

* New dust control regulations are up for consideration.

* Classic Homes has requested a zoning change, master plan amendment and conditional use permit for a hotel next to Spring Mountain Raceway.
