Nye Gold Seekers meet

The Nye Gold Seekers will meet at 1 p.m. Jan. 15 in Phil Shallenberger's hangar, corner of Helicopter Road and Jet Place.

Mike and Monty will address panning technique.

Valentine's Day pancake breakfast

There will be a Valentine's Day pancake breakfast 8-11 a.m. Feb. 14, at the Masonic Temple, 281 E. Gemini Dr.

All Masons and friends and the public are invited.

There is a donation of $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12.

The event will benefit the scholarship fund.

Teen night

St. Martin's in the Desert Episcopal Church and NyE Communities Coalition and the Boys and Girls Club will host a teen night at the Boys and Girls Club 6-9 p.m. Feb. 20 at the Boys and Girls Club.

Middle school through high school students are invited for free food, karaoke and games.

Poetry series meets

The ongoing series of poetry and coffee will meet 10 a.m.-noon Feb. 14 at Lois Layne's Deli, off Basin Avenue at the corner of Dahlia Street.

There will be readings from the great poets alternating with open mike.

Seniors on the go

The Pahrump Senior Center will host a "Senior's Stimulus Package," with a bus trip to Primm.

The bus, equipped with restroom, DVD and reclining seats, will leave the VFW on Homestead Road at 8 a.m. Feb. 26. Upon arrival at Buffalo Bill's in Primm, participants will receive a voucher for a free lunch buffet. The bus, provided by Triple "J" Tours, will arrive back at the VFW at 6 p.m.

Reservations must be made and paid by Feb. 24.

Great cooks are wanted to prepare favorite New Orleans recipes Feb. 21 at the Mardi Gras celebration.

The Pahrump Chamber of Commerce is seeking participants for the Mardi Gras celebration to be held at 1 p.m., Feb. 21.

Enter a float, group or family, walk or ride in a decorated vehicle.

Costumes are highly encouraged.

King and queen of Mardi Gras

The Pahrump Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for a king and queen for the upcoming Mardi Gras celebration.

The winners will be ambassadors for the day and lead the parade to be held at 1 p.m. Feb. 21.

Ms. Senior Nye County Pageant

The Ms. Senior Nye County Pageant will be held April 18 at the Maverick, 340 E. Mesquite Ave.

The pageant is open to all ladies who have reached the elegant age of 60 plus.

Dancers, singers, comedy acts, poets, etc. are needed.

Twelfth Night

The Pahrump Arts Council and Pahrump Valley High School Drama Department will stage William Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night," in a one-night-only show at 7 p.m. Feb. 21 in the PVHS auditorium.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and tickets are $10, with reduced prices for PAC members and students.

Missoula Children's Theatre

The Pahrump Arts Council will host the Missoula Children's Theatre performance of "Robin Hood," scheduled to perform 2 and 6 p.m., March 14 in the PVHS auditorium.
