Hunter safety course in area

The Nevada Department of Wildlife and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation are co-sponsoring a hunter safety course in Pahrump.

The course is mandatory for all first-time hunters.

The dates and times:

• Feb. 23, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

• Feb. 24, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

• Feb. 25, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

• Feb. 26, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

• Feb. 27, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

• Feb. 28, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

To register for the course, contact the Nevada Department of Wildlife on the Web site, www.ndow.org. Work books are available for $5 at WR Sporting LLC, 111 S. Frontage Road, Suite 6 (across from the Albertson's shopping center) and at Shadow Mountain Feed, at the corner of Leslie Street and Bell Vista Avenue.

All work books must be completed before the class begins.
