50 CENTS A BAG

Special to the PVT
Don Ziemski, an executive sales representative from the Sylvania Company, along with Ed Lepisto, the manager of the local C.E.D. Warehouse made a visit to Floyd Elementary School recently to donate a commercial-size popcorn machine to the school. Every Friday, Floyd Elementary sells bags of freshly made popcorn for 50 cents each. This is the school's latest way to cope with budget cuts. The money earned from the popcorn sales goes toward purchasing books, field trip expenses and any extra teaching materials needed for special lessons. Principal Holly Lepisto, at left, and her staff have been working with parents to find creative fundraising activities. Later this month, they will have a movie night at the school where they will sell concessions. In April, the school is planning on a carnival, including games, food and rides. All the money earned goes to benefit the students.
