Elesha Minette Maher Rasmuson Elesha Minette Maher Rasmuson, 34, passed away Aug. 23, 2009 at her home. She was born April 19, 1975, in Las Vegas. Throughout her life, she resided in La Sal, Utah, Athens, Ga., and San Diego, Calif., before calling Las Vegas her home again in 1995. Elesha touched all those with whom she came in contact. In her short 34 years, she accomplished many great things. She was a dedicated employee for Ahern Rentals for 12 years before becoming a vice president for Xtreme Manufacturing. Her work ethic was inspiring. Her generosity and love for others was evident in all she did. She was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in various capacities, most recently, teaching youth. Her giving spirit will always be remembered. Elesha is survived by husband Michael Rasmuson; children Averey and Hayden Rasmuson; father Michael (Paulyne) Maher Sr.; mother Geneva (Gordon) Bringhurst; sisters Michele Drew, Kimberly Kingsley and Kiri Brough; brothers Michael Maher Jr., Matthew (Carissa) Maher, Benjamin (MaryAnn) Maher, Joshua (Christin) Maher, Adam (Athena) Maher and Caleb Maher and many nieces and nephews. The initial visitation will be 6:30 to 9 p.m., Aug. 28. Her life will be celebrated beginning with the viewing from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., followed by the service at 11 a.m., Aug. 29, at the North Las Vegas Stake Center. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Blind Center of Nevada. (08/23/2009) Calvin E. Baltutat Calvin E. Baltutat, 65, passed away Aug. 25, 2009, in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 6, 1943, in Chicago, Ill., and was a resident of Pahrump for three years, having come from California. He was a warehouse worker and truck driver for Seaquest Trucking and was of the Christian faith. Surviving are his wife Geraldine Baltutat of Pahrump; sons Kenneth Baltutat and Keith Tommy Baltutat, both of Pahrump and grandson Branden Baltutat of Beatty. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Aug. 29 at the Church of the Pentecost on Woodchips Road. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family. (08/25/2009) ![]() Mary M. Hall Mary M. Hall, 81, passed away Aug. 22, 2009. She was born Oct. 2, 1927, in Ohio between Central College and Westerville on her parent's farm. She was a resident of Pahrump since 1983, having come here after retiring from Boeing North American Aviation. She worked for 31 years at the Columbus, Ohio and Tulsa, Okla., plants. Mary is survived by step-daughter Pamela Hansen of Danville, Calif.; stepson David Hall of Phoenix, Ariz., and best friend of 57 years Henriette Oakes of Las Vegas. She was preceded in death by her husband, George M. Hall. Mary will be remembered for her love of puppy dogs. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nye County Animal Shelter. (08/22/2009) ![]() Darwin Octave Larson Darwin Octave Larson passed away Aug. 1, 2009, at home in Pahrump. He was born Nov. 11, 1925, in Clyde, N.D. Darwin joined the US Navy at age 18 and served 20 years. He is a World War II veteran. He was stationed in many places during his career, with his last overseas deployment being Christ Church, New Zealand, during the Vietnam War. He retired at the rank of Chief Petty Officer from Lakehurst Naval Station; while living in Toms River. He was an ROTC gunnery instructor for 11 years at Admiral Farragut Military Academy in Pine Beach, N.J. After retiring from the academy, he moved to California and then Nevada. Darwin and Judy were longtime members of the Escapee RV Club and were the founding members of Pair-A-Dice RV Co-op Park in Pahrump where they lived since 1989. Darwin is survived by wife Judith Larson; sisters Dorothy (Marvin) Richter and Shirley Olson; brother Clair Larson; sons Rocky (Janet) Larson, Bruce (Mercy) Larson; daughters Marsha (Randy) Chambers and Suzette (Jack) Slosky; grandchildren Robin Kuri, Renee Kime, Jason and Mark Chambers, Melissa and Manda Ewell, Justin and Jeremy Larson; five great-grandchildren and step-children Sherry Ulloa and Barry Mayer. He was preceded in death by parents Arthur P. (Bullseye) and Nora Larson; brother Cpl. Arthur Norman Larson and his first wife, Betty (Berryman) Maxson. Darwin's body has been donated to medical science in Las Vegas. Services will be scheduled for a later date. Inturnment will be in International Falls, Minn., with his brother and parents.
