The 2009 Nevada high school football season begins Saturday at Mackay Stadium in Reno, when state champions from the Silver State and Arizona collide.

Kickoff is at 7 p.m. for the contest between Reno McQueen and Peoria Centennial. Both squads won state titles last season, each going 14-0. Centennial is on a 26-game winning streak, having won three consecutive Arizona championships.

The game is the fourth annual Sollenberger Classic, named in memory of Barry Sollenberger. a former Arizona Interscholastic Association employee.

McQueen edged Las Vegas Palo Verde 13-12 in the 2008 Class 4-A title game.
