Club MVC will host a series of four World Poker Tour qualifying tournaments, starting Saturday in the Mountain View Casino.

The WPT event is the Festa al Lago Classic, to be played in the Bellagio Casino in Las Vegas Oct. 2-26. Club MVC tournaments will qualify players for four Festa Al Lago events:

* Event No. 3, a $540-buy-in tournament to be played in the Bellagio Oct. 4;

* Event No. 8, a $1,080-buy-in tournament Oct. 9;

* Event No. 16, the $1,590-buy-in Seniors tourney Oct. 17;

* Event No. 18, a $1,590-buy-in tournament Oct. 18.

Nugget Summer Classic

The Pahrump Nugget Summer Classic Poker Tournament will be played in the poker room Thursday through Sunday.

The Classic schedule:

THURSDAY, 11 a.m. -- Satellites for the main event; $25 buy-ins for NLHE. One winner per table will earn a seat in the Classic finals, slated at 8 p.m. Aug. 15. The championship buy-in will be $200 plus $25 fee, with one $200 re-buy optional.

THURSDAY, 7 p.m. -- NLHE, $60 buy-in, with a $15 fee; a $40 add-on will be optional.

FRIDAY, Noon -- Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or better, $60 buy-in, $15 fee and a $40 add-on optional.

FRIDAY, 8 p.m. -- Best All-Around Player tournament, featuring H.O.R.S.E (hold'em, Omaha hi-low, razz, stud 7-card and eight-or-better 7-card, $100 buy-in, with a $20 fee.

SATURDAY, Noon -- Half Omaha high, half Omaha hi-low split 8 or better, $60 buy-in, with a $15 fee.

SATURDAY, 8 p.m. -- The Classic Championship NLHE, $200, with a $25 fee and a $200 re-buy optional.

tournaments

No-limit hold'em tournaments are held every day except Saturday; the second Saturday of each month is set aside for free-roll tournaments.

Tournaments begin at 11 a.m. Mondays through Fridays with $25 buy-ins and at noon on Sundays ($40).

A no-limit tournament is slated each Wednesday, starting at 7 p.m. ($40).

On the schedule are an Omaha-hold'em tag-team tournament each Tuesday and Omaha hi-low split events each Thursday, with action starting at 6 p.m. each of those days. Tournaments will be held according to player demand.

The Tuesday and Thursday buy-ins are $40 each night.
