Club MVC will host a series four World Poker Tour qualifying tournaments, starting Aug. 15 in the Mountain View Casino.

The format will be the same as the club ran in May and June, when World Series of Poker qualifiers were contested on the two computer tables. Five Club MVC finals winners earned seats in the 2009 WSOP.

The WPT event is the Festa al Lago Classic, to be played in the Bellagio Casino in Las Vegas Oct. 2-26. In 2008, Bertrand Grosspellier won the $15,000 buy-in tournament, earning $1,411,015 out of a prize pool of $5,354,400. A total of 368 players entered the championship event.

Club MVC tournaments will qualify players for four Festa Al Lago events:

* Event No. 3, a $540-buy-in tournament to be played in the Bellagio Oct. 4;

* Event No. 8, a $1,080-buy-in tournament slated Oct. 9;

* Event No. 16, the $1,590-buy-in Seniors tourney, won by Gary Beller in 2008, earning $50,000 and scheduled for Oct. 17;

* Event No. 18, a $1,590-buy-in tournament Oct. 18.

NOTES -- The $15,000 finals at the Bellagio begin Oct. 21 and are scheduled to end Oct. 25. The final table, to be televised, is Oct. 26 ... The Festa al Lago final table survivor receives $25,000 plus $500 for entry into the 2010 WPT Championship, to be played at the Bellagio next spring (based on a $300,000 prize pool.)
