Mountain View Casino has entered into an agreement with the World Series of Poker as a licensed satellite location and will host five tournaments beginning in May.

The winner of each will be awarded a seat in the 40th annual World Series of Poker, May 27-July 15, in Las Vegas.

The casino's gaming floor has been expanded to include a total entertainment experience called Club MVC with high-definition televisions, a high-definition projector, state of the art surround sound, a new 42-foot video poker bar, and two new electronic PokerPro tables from PokerTek.

The grand opening for the expanded area will be Friday, May 1, at 5 p.m.

"Poker has become as much as sitting at home, playing a good game of poker but with the opportunity to meet a new group of friends," said Shelley McCaw, owner of the Mountain View. "We hope everyone embraces this total new concept of poker fun."

The new tables look like traditional poker tables but do not require human dealers, cards or chips. The table itself functions as the dealer, according to the casino, and the players do not play against the computer or the casino but against each other.

"Playing on a PokerPro table is the same as playing at a traditional table but without the dealer mistakes, unnecessary interruptions or game delays," said Jim Crelia at the casino.

Mountain View is the first casino with the new system installed since approval by Nevada Gaming Control.
