BEATTY -- Thanks in part to the efforts of the Beatty Economic Development Corp., the town is in line to receive approximately $3 million in stimulus money for three important water projects.

Beatty Water and Sewer District Manager Ray Williams announced at his board's April meeting the projects had been approved for funding through Nevada's state revolving fund, which is being used to distribute the money.

The three projects include a back-up well near the one donated to the town by Barrick Gold, the renovation of the huge water tank at the former Barrick Bullfrog site and its conversion to store potable water, and an arsenic treatment plant required by tightened federal standards.

The district was in the process of drafting and sending a letter of intent to proceed on the projects.
