Bob Fisher said the effort to oppose illegal prostitution will take several forms, some focused on the www.RegulatedManagement.com Web site but also through seminars, panel discussions and community forums.

"Beginning in May, we plan to issue a series of 'white papers' on various aspects of illegal prostitution and its negative effects and consequences," said Fisher. "Ultimately we will have a series of events/forums where we will interact directly with the public, both to provide information and seek their input."

He said he is working to create an advisory board that will involve sex workers, representatives of law enforcement, professors, health care professionals and politicians.

"It needs to be brought up," said Kenneth Green. "It needs to be brought up."

Through the efforts of Regulated Management, supporters hope to "motivate and lead the community in a call to action to pressure those in a position of authority to find and implement solutions" to oppose and suppress what was termed an "unacceptable solution."

At the same time, the effort is designed to "educate the public on the severity and negative effects of illegal prostitution."

The Web site includes a petition for those who log on to express their feelings about illegal prostitution.

Through it, users are promised they will be kept up to date on new developments.

"Only by all of us e-mailing our government officials and telling them that we want a change will they address the issue and problems," said the Web site.
