If you're looking for ways to cut back, spend smart and find something for free, then listen up. This column will share tips on ways to stretch your dollars, methods for trimming your budget and my favorite ... free stuff.

Are you aware of the opportunities available at our Pahrump Community Library? Be sure to bring your library card, which will not only give you access to all the fiction and non-fiction books but also to many other options you may not have considered.

Our local library has an extensive collection of DVD and VHS movies available to rent for free, with your library card. They also have music CDs and CD-ROM games.

Want to brush up on typing? There are CD-ROMs to help you hone your skills. Need Internet access? It's available at the library, using your laptop or one of their computers. Want to learn more about computers? Computer classes are offered Tuesday through Friday.

Also, here's a little known tip: there are grocery coupons, free for the taking, in a box near the front doors. Consider dropping off some coupons you have which you won't use while taking some you will. Let's help each other save a buck.

Totally Free in Pahrump

Saturday, April 25, is the fourth Saturday of the month, which means it's Free Family Movie Day at the Pahrump Community Library.

This Saturday's movie is "Bedtime Stories," starring Adam Sandler, "a family comedy about a hotel handyman whose life changes when the lavish bedtime stories he tells his niece and nephew start to magically come true."

This PG family-friendly movie runs 99 minutes. The show starts at 2 pm.
