Butterfly Release May 2PVT
Nathan Adelson Hospice is planning its sixth annual Celebration of Life Butterfly release for Saturday, May 2, with the ceremony starting at 11 a.m. at Honeysuckle Park. This event will again feature the release of nearly 200 live monarch butterflies in honor and memory of loved ones. Orders are now being taken for butterflies priced at $25 each. The butterflies will be distributed the day of the event along with a commemorative program listing the names of those being honored. The distribution will begin at 10 a.m. so that all butterflies are handed out before the ceremony begins. Inspirational music will be provided by harpists Susan Zink and Marilyn Gamble. Other musical presentations will be Melissa Monge, her brother Edwin and Amanda Martin. Nathan Adelson Hospice CEO Carole Fisher will deliver an inspirational message and Rev. Julie Platson and Chaplain Julie McCain will provide a short, poignant ceremony before the butterflies are released. The ceremonial labyrinth will be available for those who would like to take the inspirational journey. It's a family day so bring a picnic and make a day of it. Corporate sponsors for the Butterfly Release are Pahrump Family Mortuary and Desert View Hospital. There is still time to become a corporate sponsor or purchase a butterfly for the release.
