Meek among DVR winners

The micro sprints competed Saturday at the Death Valley Raceway, with Tony Sharron winning the feature race on the one-third mile dirt oval.

AMARGOSA VALLEY -- Rick VanBuytene, G Verne, Robert Pearson, Bobby Meek and Tony Sharron won feature races Saturday at Death Valley Raceway.

Competing on the one-third mile dirt oval, VanBuytene outraced Steve Edwards to the checkered flag in the super stocks main. Pete Wallace and Anthony DeBiase were third and fourth, respectively.

Verne won the mini-stock feature, beating John Burch. Anthony Broadhead, Susan Smotherman and Stacey Stinson were in the top five.

Teri Little, Jabez Broadhead, Chad Broadhead and Rick Gast also competed.

Pearson was first in the coupes main, followed by Steve Figgins, Teri Hiser and Donald Gott.

Meek won the Dwarf main, finishing ahead of Scott Kelley, Mark Dillie, Blake Olsen, Cecilia Dillie and Mike Bean.

The micro-sprint win went to Sharron. Errol Sharron was second, followed by John Hawkins, Bill Rondeau, Ed Espinosa, Jim Parker, Ed Wheeler, Gabby Disznos and Erin Sharron.

The next DVR races are May 2.
