Sierra Vista next stop for the Trojans

Pahrump Valley, after losing two hard-fought road games, played at home Tuesday against Southwest Division leader Las Vegas Durango in a fast-pitch softball game.

Thursday, the Lady Trojans travel to Sierra Vista for another division contest, as well as the completion of an 11-inning, 14-14 tie March 27.

PVHS will play Bishop Gorman at Majestic Park Monday at 3:30 p.m., host Western April 29

The results:

Clark 6, Pahrump Valley 5 -- At Clark Monday, the Chargers (5-4, 12-10) scored three runs in the sixth and win 6-5 against Pahrump Valley (2-6, 7-12). Elisa Dawson was 2-for-3 with a home run for Clark, and Julie Hagen (two RBIs) and J.J. Fukuda also went 2-for-3.

Pahrump Valley had just three hits off Dawson.

Jasmine Wilson was 4-for-4 with a triple, two doubles and two stolen bases, leading Spring Valley's softball team past visiting Pahrump Valley, 7-4, on Friday.

Katie Campo had two hits to help Spring Valley, which scored three runs in the fourth inning to take a 6-4 lead.

Taylor Raymer was 3-for-4 with a triple to lead the Trojans.

Elsewhere in division games Monday:

Bonanza 4, Spring Valley 0 -- At Spring Valley, Courtney Spencer threw a three-hitter with four strikeouts as the Bengals (8-1, 23-3) shut out the Grizzlies (5-4, 8-11).

Durango 12, Bishop Gorman 0 -- At Majestic Park, Nicole Herrera struck out 10 and doubled to help the Trailblazers (9-0, 18-6) beat the Gaels (1-8, 3-23).

Sierra Vista 18, Western 3 -- At Western, Ashley Krumme was 4-for-5 with two doubles, five runs and three RBIs to carry the Mountain Lions (2-6, 7-12) past the Warriors (0-9, 0-14).

In action Friday:

Desert Oasis 10, Bishop Gorman 3 -- At Majestic Park, Nicole Liakos had three doubles and two RBIs to help Desert Oasis (6-2, 8-17) defeat the Gaels.

Bonanza 12, Sierra Vista 2 -- At Bonanza, Emily Osborn and Cheyenne Wells had two hits apiece, and the Bengals led 10-0 after three innings. Sam Snyder pitched a two-hitter with eight strikeouts.

Clark 14, Western 0 -- At Clark, Elisa Dawson struck out 10 and threw a one-hitter with no walks to lead the Chargers to a five-inning win.

In Southwest baseball, Pahrump Valley lost twice on the road, falling 14-4 at Clark on Monday and 5-1 at Spring Valley on Friday.

Pahrump Valley, 2-7 in the Southwest Division and 5-15 in all games, plays at Sierra Vista Thursday, then goes to Cashman Field in Las Vegas Monday to take on division-leading Bishop Gorman (3:30 p.m.)

The results:

Clark 14, Pahrump Valley 4 -- At Clark, Manny Estrada was 3-for-3 with three runs to help the Chargers to the five-inning win.

Travis Pullen and Miguel Gonzalez each went 3-for-4 for Clark, which scored 12 runs in the bottom of the fourth.

Tom Hoag went the distance, allowing two earned runs and striking out 10, to get the win.

The Trojans had defeated the Chargers 8-4 in their first-ever Class 4-A division baseball game in March.

Spring Valley 5, Pahrump Valley 1 -- At Spring Valley Friday, Garrett Blair tossed a complete-game five-hitter to help the Grizzlies beat the Trojans.

Blair, who struck out 10 while allowing no walks, also went 2-for-4 to lead Spring Valley at the plate.

Teammates Chase LaComb and Jackson Morrow each went 1-for-3.

On Monday:

Spring Valley 11, Bonanza 1 -- At Spring Valley, the Grizzlies (7-2, 18-4) scored nine runs in the fourth inning to pull away from the Bengals (4-4, 9-14).

Billy Bob Ward was 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Spring Valley, which won by the 10-run rule after five innings.

Spring Valley's Aaron Blair struck out seven in a complete game, allowing six hits and walking one.

Bonanza's Kris Bryant went 2-for-3.

Bishop Gorman 13, Durango 0 -- At College of Southern Nevada, Joey Rickard tossed a five-inning shutout innings and was 4-for-4 with three RBIs to lead the Gaels (8-0, 24-3) past the Trailblazers.

Jeff Malm was 3-for-4 with three RBIs and Jerry Mitchell 2-for-3 for Gorman, which scored eight runs in the third inning.

Sierra Vista 17, Western 0 -- At Western, the Mountain Lions (7-2, 19-3) scored 11 runs in the first inning on the way to a five-inning rout of the Warriors (1-8, 3-12).

Kyle Gamble, Jake Hager and Scotty Tomassetti homered for Sierra Vista, which collected 16 hits.

Connor Klein was 2-for-2 and with a double for Sierra Vista.

David Yocum went 2-for-2 for Western.Brooks Klein had a triple, a home run and two RBIs to help Sierra Vista to a 9-3 road victory over Bonanza on Friday.

Winning pitcher Jake Hager had a double and a home run, and Tommy Barnes and Scotty Tomassetti each added two hits for Sierra Vista.

Bonanza's Kris Bryant had a single and a triple.

* Pahrump Valley's track team went to Bonanza Tuesday to compete in a quadrangular meet with the host Blazers, Sierra Vista and Spring Mountain.

The Trojans will be at home Tuesday to take on Bishop Gorman. Beatty is also scheduled to compete, starting at 3:30 p.m.
