Viola M. Heitman

Viola M. Heitmanm, 91, passed away April 1, 2009, in Pahrump.

She was born June 19, 1917, in Wisconsin and was a resident of Pahrump since 2001, having come from Monrovia, Calif.

She was a pottery finisher and of the Methodist faith.

She enjoyed quilting, crossword puzzles and growing African violets.

She is survived by sons David and Paul Heitman of Pahrump; daughters Ann Killion of Pahrump and Nancy Means of Missouri; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth.

A celebration of her life was held at 2 p.m. April 18 in the chapel of Lee Funeral Home. (04/01/2009)

Virgil Petrie

Virgil Albert Petrie, 85, of Henderson, passed away April 16, 2009.

He was born June 21, 1923, in Blackwell, Okla., and was a 46-year resident of Nevada.

Virgil was a floor coverer and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Tonopah, the Masonic Lodge of Blackwell, Okla., and a member of the Eastern Star of Tonopah.

Virgil is survived by his wife, Carol J. Petrie; daughters, Betty (Norman) Case of Pahrump, Mary Ann (Ronald) Sims of Ovilla, Texas and Christina (Eric) Rost of Henderson; sons John (Vickie) Petrie of Las Vegas, Virgil L. Petrie of Long Beach, Calif.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

No services are scheduled. Donations can be made to the Lou Ruvo Brain Institute of Las Vegas, Keep Memory Alive Foundation. (04/16/2009)

Wesley W. Carrington

Wesley W. Carrington, 71, passed away April 14, 2009, in Pahrump.

He was born Nov. 27, 1937, in Des Moines, Iowa and was a resident of Pahrump for 22 years, having come from Clear Creek, Colo.

He was a spray painter for John Deere D. M. Works for 22 years and a retired Nye County School District custodian.

He was of the Lutheran faith.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Janice of Pahrump, daughters Julie (Ron) Bieganski of Pahrump and Josie (Greg) Anderson of Des Moines; sons Wesley A. (Juliann) of Pahrump and Samuel of Dumont, Colo.; sisters Naomi Van Sickle of Ventura, Calif., and Nancy (Larry) Lake of Des Moines; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nancy and Wayne Carrington.

Services will be at 10 a.m., April 25 at Pahrump Family Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saved by Grace Lutheran Church. (04/14/2009)

Daniel Carlgren

Daniel Carlgren, 60, passed away April 18, 2009, in Pahrump.

He was born May 5, 1948, in Ely and was a resident of Pahrump for 15 years, having come from Washington.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines and served in Vietnam.

He was employed as a steel worker for Advanced Steel Systems.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Carlgren; daughters Dana Hampton of Alamagordo, N.M., and Shannon Sylvester of Pahrump; son Eric Kaulman of Pahrump; mother Goldy Carlgren of Pahrump; brothers Richard (Sioux) Carlgren of Pahrump, Jim (Mary) Carlgren of Tucson, Ariz., and Mitchell (Betty) Carlgren and Vernon (Chou) Bradley, both of Ely; sister Deyna De La Cruz of Nashville, Tenn., and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Carlgren and his brother, Bill Bradley.

Services will be at 11 a.m., May 2. Contact Richard Carlgren, 727-9637 for the location.

Charlene Roberta Weber

Charlene Roberta Weber passed away April 17, 2009.

She was born Feb. 19, 1930.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. April 24 at Pahrump Family Mortuary. (04/17/2009)
