Rotary golf tourney slated June 6 at Mountain Falls

The Rotary Club of Pahrump Valley will hold its benefit golf tourney at Mountain Falls June 5-6.

Registration will start at 8 a.m. June 6 at the pro shop.

The shot gun start is at 9 a.m. for the Las Vegas-style scramble tournament.

The $80 entry fee covers:

* a June 5 barbecue dinner;

* a magic show by 'The Great Golfini' at Terrible's Lakeside RV Resort & Casino (in the Lakeside Timber House), 6 p.m.-9 p.m.;

* free range balls, greens fees and cart rental for the scramble June 6;

* a luncheon, raffle and awards ceremony following the tournament in the Mountain Falls restaurant.

Non-golfers and/or spouses may attend either Friday night's dinner or the Saturday luncheon for an additional $15 for each event.

Mulligans and putting strings will be $5 each; neither can be used on hole-in-one-contests.

Golfers do not need to have an established handicap to play. Practice rounds can be played June 5 after 12:30 p.m. for an additional $30.

Several hole-in-one prizes will be available including

* Hole No. 17, a Jeep Wrangler courtesy of Saitta Trudeau and the Pahrump Valley Rotary;

* Hole No. 14, a $10,000 cash prize from Saitta-Trudeau;

* Hole No. 17, featuring a drawing where two players will be allowed to try again for a prize of $100,000. sponsored by Extreme Finish Inc.,

* Hole No. 4, Nike Golf Equipment sponsored by Hole in One International insurance company,

* Hole No.8, a Bose Wave music system, sponsored by Hole in One International insurance company. Plaques and cash prizes will be available for first, second- and third-place foursomes.

Registrations must be received on or before June 3. Single player registrations will be combined to make a foursome.
