Community meeting The Nevada Test Site Community Advisory Board will hold a meeting in Pahrump at 6 p.m. May 6 at the Bob Ruud Community Center. The guest speaker will be Ruth Weiner, from Sandia National Laboratories, who will give a presentation on the RADTRAN computer modeling program of radioactive transportation routes. Laureate Omicron The Laureate Omicron chapter of Beta Sigma Phi will meet at 1:30 p.m. April 13 in the home of Ladene Urban who will present the cultural program "Recipe for Friendship." ARES yard sale The local chapter of ARES/RACES will have a yard sale 8-2 p.m. April 17 and 18, at 2651 E. Dandelion St. No early birds. ARES/RACES is a nonprofit, all volunteer group providing emergency and public service communications. The proceeds will help purchase equipment needed to provide effective communications. Call 727-9167 for more information. Free child care for job hunters Child's Play Learning Center is offering free "drop-in" child care for those seeking employment. The service will begin April 20 . Girl Scouts day camp The Girl Scouts of Pahrump will have the annual spring break day camp 4-7 p.m. April 13-15 at Honeysuckle Park. The theme is safari. The service is free. Meet the Ombudsman LAS VEGAS -- The real estate division has scheduled "Meet the Ombudsman" event at 11 a.m. April 17 in the Pahrump Senior Center. Sessions last for about two hours. The events are designed to help homeowners association residents understand their rights and responsibilities and the role of the Nevada Office of the Ombudsman in resolving disputes. Ombudsman Lindsay Waite and education officer, Nick Haley will present information on services. HOA residents will learn how to conduct business and be able to ask questions.
