Acoustic Grass and Music Fest

Members of Kid Fiddlers, consisting of six members of the Jackson family from Las Vegas, with the youngest, Skyler, 7, perform at the second annual Acoustic Grass and Music Festival at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 10054 Saturday. This year, the festival managed to avoid the kind of ferocious winds that affected last year's version, and most people's hats stayed in place.

"Stuck in Reverse" performs before a pleasantly happy crowd.

"Wild Blue's" bassist Larry Carlin, the self-proclaimed "King of King of Prussia, Pa." thumps out time.

The same group's Dr. Elmo and John Pierson handle the banjo and guitar chores.

During the Rock Around the Clock Sock Hop and Classic Car Show at Pahrump Valley Auto Plaza, JD and Connie Mast cut a rug.

Kelly King, wearing a poodle skirt, demonstrates her Hula Hoop skills. The car dealership removed all its cars for the classics -- which you'll see right here in Friday's edition.
