GINA B. GOOD / PVT Joy Williams, 13, better known as Gospel Joy, performed several sets Saturday and Sunday at the Wild West Extravaganza. Her music includes old favorites such as "Amazing Grace" as well as original songs. Williams began singing at age 3 and asked to change her name to Gospel Joy at age 5. The singer, songwriter and musician has made four albums, including one with the Lost Highway Bluegrass Band. On stage this weekend, Gospel Joy told the story of early pioneers using song and changing hats. She was a school marm, a circuit rider, a sheriff and Calamity Joy. As the preacher, she sang "Just a Closer Walk with Thee."
