Boosters The Pahrump Valley Athletics Boosters Club will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Wulfy's banquet room. No race The Death Valley Raceway has canceled its Saturday event, because of a conflict with the Boone Nationals in Iowa. The track, located in the Amargosa Valley, will return from a summer break Sept. 20. Lions golf The Pahrump Valley Lions Club will host the sixth annual Lions Golf tournament Oct. 17-18 at Mountain Falls. The tournament is a four-person scramble. There will be a shotgun start at 7 p.m. Oct. 17 on the back nine. The fee is $45 per player for the nine-hole event. The fee is $75 for the 18-hole round Oct. 18. The two-day fee is $100 per player. Hole sponsorships are also available for a $100 donation. Saitta-Trudeau will provide a vehicle in a hole-in-one contest on the 17th hole Oct. 18. There will be other contests and events, including a barbecue lunch Oct. 18. Proceeds benefit the Lions Club scholarship program and sight conservation activities. For information or to register, contact the Lions Club at 727-9016. RCMS football Rosemary Clarke's middle school football team opens Saturday at Las Vegas Faith Lutheran. Game times are 10 a.m. (seventh grade) and noon (eighth grade). The Sharks are at Boulder City Sept. 13, at Overton Moapa Valley Sept. 27 and at Bullhead City, Ariz., Mohave Oct. 11. Home games are Sept. 20 vs. Fox Creek and Oct. 4, against Faith Lutheran. Middle school playoffs are Oct. 18 and 25. Pop Warner The Pop Warner Sharks football team will play Sept. 12 at Las Vegas, against the Trojans. The team is to have a picture day at 8 a.m. Saturday at Rosemary Clarke Middle School. Their first home game is Sept. 20 against the Bears, starting at 10 a.m. At Petrack Park Each Monday and Friday, at 8 a.m., senior softball is being played at Petrack Park. The entry fee is $125 per team, with a four-game guarantee. Contact Causey for information. Roller hockey Youth Hockey League play resumes Monday for a 10-week season. Sr. Olympics The 2008 Nevada Senior Olympics will be contested Sept. 23-Oct. 19 in Las Vegas. Opening ceremonies are Sept. 21. Sports to be contested include tennis, pistol shoot, dance, power lift, fitness, volleyball, roller skating, bowling, paddle tennis, cycling, horseshoe pitching, road race, track & field, basketball, swimming, archery, badminton, golf, golf skills, pickleball, racquetball and walk-a-thon. Minimum age is 45 years old (as of Dec. 31, 2008). Fees are $30 (individual), $10 (out of state), $10 (late entry) and $20 (national qualifying processing fee).
