Teen night

The NyE Communities Coalition and St. Martin's in the Desert Episcopal Church will host a teen night 6-9 p.m. Oct. 17 at Seemoore's Too.

Middle school through high school students are invited for an evening of free food, karaoke and games.

'Scarioke ' fundraiser

Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church will host a "Scarioke" fundraiser 7 p.m. until the bewitching hour on Oct. 17 in the parish hall, 781 E. Gamebird Road.

There will be games, prizes, a costume contest, karaoke, dancing, music by Desert Knights and a hot dog bar.

The cost is a donation of $15 per person. Proceeds will benefit youth ministries and the mortgage reduction fund.

4-H GPS Club

The University of Nevada Cooperative Extension 4-H will offer an opportunity for kids ages 9-19 to learn about Global Positioning Systems.

The club will explore geo-cachng, a high-tech treasure hunting game. The idea is to locate hidden treasures with a GPS device.

Teen Halloween party

There will be a free party for the town's teenagers 8 p.m. - midnight, Oct. 31 at 4611 W. Donner Drive.

There will be food and non-alcoholic drinks, a costume contest and music and dancing.

This is a drug- and alcohol-free event.

The Dungeon haunted house

Home Depot will sponsor the "largest home haunt in Nevada" beginning at 7 p.m., Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, through Halloween at 3100 ParkRidge Ave., off of Dandelion.

Donations will be accepted but admission is free.

Gold Seekers outing

The Nye Gold Seekers will have their bi-monthly outing this weekend.

The group meets at 7:30 a.m. Oct. 18 in Burger King.

Fall Art & Craft Show

The Desert Arts Council will sponsor the Fall Desert Art & Craft Show Oct. 31 through Nov. 2 at the Flower Building in Shoshone.

The show will be open noon - 5 p.m. on Friday, 9-5 p.m. on Saturday and 9-3 p.m. on Sunday.

Shop for that unique holiday gift or for the home.

Bones & Brew Cook-off

The Pahrump Elks will host the Bones & Brew Cook-off Oct. 25 at the lodge, 2220 Basin Road, one mile east of Highway 160.

There will be food, a no-host bar, games, entertainment, door prizes and an awards presentation.

The event is open to the public.

EAA Eagles Rally

The Pahrump chapter of the Experimental Aircraft Association will host its fourth Young Eagles Rally 9-1 p.m. Nov. 1 at the Calvada Aeropark, corner of Simpkins Road and Highway 160.

The purpose is to give children 8-17 free airplane rides in the local area. Last year 93 kids rode.

Parents or legal guardians must accompany the child to the airport and remain until their child has flown.

Please bring chairs.

Water and soft drinks will be available as well as portable toilet facilities.

Country music jamboree

The Nevada Country Music Association will hold a jamboree 10-6 p.m. Oct. 19 at the Short Branch Saloon in Crystal.

The all-day event will feature food, karaoke, dancing, bands, prizes, appearances by the Pahrump and Beatty gunfighters and a meet and greet candidates forum.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door.

Halloween Safe Night

The Kiwanis and the Pahrump Valley High School Key Club will sponsor a Halloween Safe Night starting at 4 p.m. for younger children and 6-9 p.m. for older children, Oct. 31 at the Bob Ruud Community Center.

Admission is free and there will be games, candy, prizes and surprises.
