Welcome to Pahrump, turn your clock back 25 years

Was that a defining moment? Almost
There is usually a moment in a presidential race -- and it's usually in October at a televised debate -- when it starts to become clear how the race is going to turn out.


Sarah Palin is one of us
You don't need a Gallup or Rasmussen poll to know that regular people on the street -- you, your family, and your neighbors -- are disgusted with politics today. The treatment of Gov. Sarah Palin is Exhibit A to illustrate that point.

Is 'this it' McCain?
WASHINGTON -- Time was, the Baltimore Orioles manager was Earl Weaver, a short, irascible, Napoleonic figure who, when cranky, as he frequently was, would shout at an umpire, "Are you going to get any better or is <i>this it</i>?" With, mercifully, only one debate to go, that is the question about John McCain's campaign.

Compromise is critical when there's only one pumpkin
Each year, Hubby, the boys and I head to the farm stands and pick out five plump pumpkins that, with a little artistic adjustment, become our biodegradable autumn yard d'cor. It is a rare shopping excursion, indeed, as it is the only one all year during which everyone -- the boys and Hubby included -- take browsing, size and color coordination very seriously.
