Holiday Lights Christmas ParadePVT For the second year in a row, Dan Schinhofen of Spotlight on Pahrump and the VFW Post 10056 are sponsoring the Holiday Lights Christmas Parade. The invitation to join the line of vehicles decorated with Christmas lights as they make their way down Dandelion from Honeysuckle Park and take the left leading into the Calvada Eye is available for anyone wanting to participate. Vehicles in last year's event included motor homes, antique cars, classic cars and those just wanting to have fun. There were about seven participants. The event will be a kick-off to the Christmas season and proceeds will benefit "Toys for Tots." Added to this year's parade is a gathering of participants at the Bob Ruud Community Center afterwards for music, hot chocolate, trophies and Santa in conjunction with the Pahrump-A-Pum-Pum celebration already in progress. So, find a vehicle capable of supporting lights and decorations, gather a bunch of friends or enlist the participation of an automobile club, recreational vehicle club or other association and sign up. The lineup will start on Honeysuckle Street, east of Dandelion at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 6. The cost is $20 for individual vehicles or $20 per group plus $1 per vehicle in the group. The deadline is Nov. 30 and forms and information may be had by calling Schinhofen at 537-2562. |
