Koats for Kids

Mankin's Allstate is hosting the third annual Koats for Kids drive.

Over the last three years, 1,500 coats have been collected and distributed through No To Abuse.

The collection point is the office, 1271 S. Highway 160.

Toys for Tots

Toys for Tots season is Nov. 1 through Dec. 20.

Help to give a needy child a merry Christmas by making a donation or cash contribution.

Collection boxes are at Wal-Mart and many other businesses.

The Toys for Tots headquarters is located at 2050 N. Highway 160, Unit 700.

Donations can be mailed to Toys for Tots, P.O. Box 2869, Pahrump, NV 89041.

Volunteers are need to help sort and inventory toy donations and various other tasks.

The "Toys for Tots" trailer will be set up Dec. 7 and 17 at Wal-Mart for toy donations.

Grief support group

Nathan Adelson Hospice is sponsoring an Adult Grief Support Group for those grieving the loss of a loved one at 4 p.m. on Wednesdays in the office, 1480 E. Calvada Blvd., Suite 900.

The meetings in November and December will focus on the challenges of getting through the holidays and discussing ways of coping with the holiday season.

Holiday food baskets

Nevada Outreach Training Organization is accepting applications for Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets and Christmas toys/gifts for children.

Application hours are 10 a.m.-noon, Tuesday-Thursday, through Dec. 11, in the offices at 621 S. Blagg Road.

Applicants must qualify under the USDA income guidelines and present picture ID, proof of current address, and proof of total income.

Christmas food can be picked up at the Family Resource Center on Dec. 17, 18 and 19.

Kiwanis coat drive

The Pahrump Kiwanis Club is sponsoring a coat drive through Dec. 31.

Coats can be dropped off at Allstate Insurance and American Family Insurance.

Photos with Santa

Nevada Federal Credit Union is offering free photos with Santa 2-5 p.m. Dec. 11 at the credit union, 280 S. Highway 160, Suite 2.

They are raffling two bicycles to benefit "Toys For Tots." The tickets are $1 each or 12 tickets for $10.

'Light Up a Life'

Nathan Adelson Hospice will sponsor a "Light Up a Life" program in a candlelight memorial service to honor and remember lost loved ones at 6 p.m. Dec. 8 in the Desert Greens Clubhouse, 350 W. Wilson Road.

Gift wrapping booth

The Salvation Army and the Pahrump Kiwanis Club will host a gift wrapping booth Dec. 11-24 at Wal-Mart.

Santa, food and toys

Oasis Outreach Motorcycle will sponsor a food and toy distribution on Dec. 21 at Wal-Mart. Santa will be there. Call 727-7227 for information.
